The Trump administration has confirmed the man mistakenly deported to El Salvador, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, is alive and remains imprisoned there. Abrego Garcia was in the United States legally but the Trump administration claims the main is a member of the MS-13 gang although he has never been charged with or convicted of any crime.
